Frequently Asked Questions
Where do I start?
To get started with your wedding dress alterations, please visit my Wedding Dress Alterations Guide page for a step-by-step guide on what to expect throughout the process.
How do I pay?
I accept payments via bank deposit, credit/debit card online, or cash. Please note that I do not have Eftpos available.

After your consultation or first fitting, I’ll send you an estimate via email. A 25% deposit is required before we begin the alterations. The remaining balance will be due when you pick up your dress.
How much does it cost?
The cost of bridal alterations can vary depending on the changes needed and the construction of your dress. Generally, you should budget between $300 and $1000 for alterations. For a complete set of alterations, including adjustments to the bust, waist, hips, hem, and bustle, the average cost is around $600 to $700 in 2024.

Factors that influence the cost include the number of layers, the complexity of the details, and any customizations. Since each dress is unique, I can’t provide an exact quote via email or phone. I invite you to schedule a consultation so I can assess your dress in person and give you a detailed estimate.

Do I need an appointment?
Yes, I see clients by appointment only from 10am-2.30pm Tuesday to Friday and 10am-5pm on Sundays.

During my quieter months (May, June, and July), I have "pop-in" hours for general clothing alterations from 10am-2pm Wednesday to Friday. If you’re a bride, you will still need an appointment to ensure I can give you my full attention.
Do you make dresses?
Sometimes!

While bridal and formal wear alterations are my top priority from August through April, I can occasionally take on bespoke design and dressmaking projects too. If you’re interested in a custom dress, please Get in Touch early to discuss your ideas. Please note that made-to-measure and bespoke garments are generally more expensive than ready-to-wear options.
Do you do general clothing alterations?
From August to April, my focus is on bridal and formal wear. However, during May, June, and July, I have space for general clothing alterations with casual "pop-in" hours from 10am-2pm Wednesday to Friday. This is the perfect time for hemming pants or repairing winter woolens. My specialty is wedding dresses, but I’m experienced in all aspects of clothing alterations.
What are your open hours?
I am available by appointment only from August to April:

-
Tuesday to Friday: 10am-2.30pm
-
Sunday: 10am-5pm

In May, June, and July, I have special “pop-in” hours for general clothing alterations:
